Everything you need to tackle the most difficult Forza Horizon 5 Festival Playlist challenges.
Forza Horizon 5 is a critically acclaimed open-world racing game, and developer Playground Games and publisher Xbox Game Studios are committed to perpetually adding fresh content to the game through the Festival Playlist. Every week, the playlist introduces players to new events, challenges to complete, and rewards to earn. Occasionally, however, challenges can ramp up the difficulty or be unclear in their descriptions and instructions.
From tricky Daily Challenges to enigmatic Treasure Hunts, this is everything you need to know to complete those Forza Horizon 5 challenges and obtain every exclusive reward in one of the best racing games on Xbox.
How can I complete the Festival Playlist challenges in Forza Horizon 5?
The Forza Horizon 5 Festival Playlist features a rotating selection of possible challenges and events, most of which are fairly straightforward. However, every so often FH5's Festival Playlist will present players with a particularly difficult challenge, either through design, confusing or unclear instructions, or even in-game bugs that prevent the challenge from being completed like normal.
Summer, Series 7 — "Fireflies" Treasure Hunt Challenge
Series 7 of Forza Horizon 5's Festival Playlist includes the latest Treasure Hunt Challenge, all of which now provide players with additional Forzathon Points, rather than a paltry amount of Credits. The "Fireflies" Treasure Hunt Challenge features another vague clue, but combined with the picture is rather easy to decipher and complete.
- Clue: Fly the Fire like a bird to collect 5 Stars
- Reward: 3 Playlist Points and 100 Forzathon Points
Essentially, you'll need to earn 5 Stars at any Danger Sign PR Stunts with a Firebird car. Your first step — acquire the car in question. We used the 1977 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, which is available from the Autoshow for 45,000 Credits, to complete this Treasure Hunt with zero issues, but any Firebird should theoretically work, including the 1987 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am GTA and the 1987 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am GTA Forza Edition (we were unable to verify this, however).
The stock 1977 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am will still get the job done, but those who want to complete this Treasure Hunt in a more expedient fashion should consider upgrading and tuning their car before attempting any Danger Sign PR Stunts.
The goal is to earn 5 Stars from any Danger Sign PR Stunts. This means you can head to whichever Danger Sign you fancy, and take as many attempts as you need to earn 5 Stars in total. The stock 1977 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am is more than capable of earning at least 1 Star at any Danger Sign, but this may mean making up to five attempts in order to solve the Treasure Hunt Clue fully. The "Rewind" button is your friend.
I headed to the "Launch Control" Danger Sign near the Horizon Mexico Festival Site, as it's easy to access, gives plenty of space to accelerate before the jump, and is easier to land successfully than some other Danger Signs. After five 1-Star attempts, I had solved the "Fireflies" Treasure Hunt Clue and revealed the location of the Treasure Chest.
The "Fireflies" Treasure Chest is located near the Horizon Apex Festival Site on the East coast of the map, and is partially hidden off of the road. You can refer to the images above to pinpoint its exact location, half-submerged in the river adjacent a pier. Once you smash the Treasure Chest, you'll have completed the "Fireflies" Treasure Hunt Challenge and will be rewarded with 3 Playlist Points toward the Festival Playlist and 100 Forzathon Points to spend at the Forzathon Shop.
The challenges continue
