The moment Qualcomm unveiled its latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, almost all the major smartphone manufacturers announced the launch of their upcoming flagships, which would utilise the chipset. Realme also confirmed that its first-ever smartphone, which would be powered by the new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, would be unveiled soon in China. The device is expected to be called the Realme GT 2 Explorer Master Edition and Realme has now confirmed its launch timeline as well.

As seen in the promotional poster above, the Realme GT 2 Explorer Master Edition will launch in China sometime in July 2022. While the brand has not given a specific date for its release, we don’t expect it to launch it too late, as Xiaomi and ASUS are expected to take the wraps off their newest flagships during the first week of July. In all likelihood, the Realme GT 2 Explorer Master Edition will launch in China during the first half of July.

Coming to the specifications of the device, the Realme GT 2 Explorer Master Edition is expected to sport a 6.7-inch FHD+ 10-bit AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. Powering the Realme GT 2 Explorer Master Edition will be a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, which will likely be paired with up to 12GB RAM and up to 512GB internal storage.
For optics, the device is said to rely upon a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2MP tertiary lens. At the front, the Realme GT 2 Explorer Master Edition is tipped to flaunt a 16MP selfie shooter.
